This summer Kingston Gallery will present Too Hot!, a juried exhibition featuring 31 artists that respond to the overheated intensity of the world through works that are intensely serious, garishly vibrant, and darkly humorous. Too Hot! is curated by Jessica Roscio, Museum Director and Curator at Danforth Art Museum in Framingham, MA.

Juror Statement: Too Hot! is a discomfitingly relevant topic and the artworks submitted pointedly reflect the turbulence and anxiety of our times. The works in Too Hot! don’t give the viewer much space to breathe, and perhaps we need that feeling of urgency. Pieces in a range of media reference topics such as war, violence, identity politics, reproductive rights, climate change, and how the constant barrage of news about these hot button topics batters our collective psyches. These are sobering topics interpreted in many different ways; I appreciate both the subtlety and blatancy that will burn brightly in Kingston Gallery this summer.”
