Pachinko Mon Amour - 3, acrylic and watercolor, 18” x 24”, 2025
In these new paintings, sometimes influenced by the seductive energy of pinball and Japanese Pachinko—the bright lights, the rhythmic sounds, and the unpredictable movements, I playfully explore the collision between organic geometry and imagined perspectives. These forms are satirical in nature, on humans' need for distraction and entertainment. I invite the viewer into spaces where meaning flutters like a shimmering, ricocheting pinball, and works as a foil to the rigid architectures of logic. Imagery arrives unannounced. Humor appears sideways in the form of surreal, abstracted ambiguous machines. I hope they catch you in motion—mid-thought, mid-fall—between the predictable and the poetic.
