Emerging Artist Program

How to apply to Kingston Gallery’s one-year Emerging Artist Program

Deadline to apply: June 15, 2026
Date for joining the gallery: September 1, 2026

The Emerging Artist program was conceived as a stepping stone for an artist early in their career, into the professional art world of exhibiting and operating an artist run gallery.

The gallery will help an emerging artist show a body of new work in a professional setting. The emerging artist will be connected with experienced mentors who will educate them on the practical aspects of everyday art gallery operation. In addition, they will have the opportunity to voice their own vision and ideas about future goals for the gallery.

  • The gallery requires the emerging artist to attend monthly meetings, work with our marketing director, and participate in day to day activities of the gallery.

  • The emerging artist will be required to gallery sit once a month.

  • The gallery would like the emerging artist to establish some personal contacts with members, for example during studio visits.

  • The emerging artist should reside in the greater Boston area.

We encourage individuals from all backgrounds to apply. We believe that our collective creative potential is best advanced by the contributions of people with diverse backgrounds, beliefs, and cultures. We welcome applicants of all races, religions, sexes, ages, disability statuses, sexual orientations, and gender identities. Your unique voice and vision are essential to our mission of showcasing contemporary art. Join us in building a vibrant, inclusive community where every artist is valued and can thrive.

The initiation fee and monthly dues are waived for the year. During the emerging artist’s tenure they will have a one-person show in our Center Gallery, with mentoring by Gallery members.
