Call for Emerging Curators

Deadline: Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at midnight

Kingston Gallery invites emerging curators, living in the greater Boston area, to submit proposals for its first ever pop-up exhibition. We are looking for a conceptually thought-provoking, visually interesting and community-engaging exhibition to fill our 1,000 sf gallery for 11 days in August, 2019. We encourage the inclusion of artworks by young and/or emerging artists and will give preference to submissions that put an emphasis on performances/events. All media and themes are welcome and submission is free! The deadline to submit is May 1, 2019.

Please note: it is the responsibility of the curator to have a gallery sitter present each day of the exhibition from 12-5pm (or later, in the case of events), and to make sure all work is present and installed by the end of the day on August 13 and the show is de-installed and the gallery is ready for the next exhibition by the end of the day on 8/25. 3D work and pieces that require special gear (i.e. video) are welcome but artists must provide their own display materials and equipment.

Submissions will be juried by Emily Brodrick, Kingston's 2018-19 emerging artist member.
