Gallery Artists: Linda Brown

My work begins as self-portrait photographs that I combine with paintings and scans of various objects and images. Everything has been both electronically and manually manipulated. The bland integrity of the digital print has been further violated through the addition of resins, pigments, crystals, and other materials. These Iris prints and lightbox transparencies are a hybrid of the photographic, the sculptural and the painterly, and thus approach both the convincing status of the document and the seductive design of a dream.
